Blue Shock Bike prepares a unique electric go-kart for Festival of Speed – Rally „Kurzeme 2014”

Electric bicycle manufacturer „Blue Shock Bike” has developed a unique electric go -kart with which spectators will have a chance to participate in race at Festival of Speed – Rally „Kurzeme 2014” and the winner will receive a prize – electric bicycle.

Spectators race will take place in the territory of Liepaja city stage, Parka street 29 on August 30 in the time of Festival of Speed – Rally „Kurzeme 2014”.

„For electric go-karts we used the same motor we use in our increased power electric bicycles. The power of motor is 350 watt what may seem not enough comparing it with fuel-powered ones, but after tests we did, we can assure that with this go-kart it will very exciting to race and it will be a real challenge and competition for all participants,” tells Artis Daugins, the director of „Blue Shock Bike”.

Maximum speed that this electric go-kart will be able to reach in the Festival of Speed – Rally „Kurzeme 2014” is 35 km/h, however it is also possible to build ones where the power is increased even four times more.

„Nothing is impossible, however electric go-karts with such a high power would demand a flat asphalt track, but in the Festival of speed track is more on gravel therefore we are preparing a rally go-kart which will also go sideways. In go-karts we left an option of pedaling for those who will want to add an extra power,” says A. Daugins.

At the same time start will be given for two competitors and one who will set the fastest time in both days will be the winner and receive a brand new electric bicycle from „Blue Shock Bike”.

„Vehicles powered with electric motor slowly takes over our everyday life and also motor sports – Andris Dambis developed „OSCar” what has successfully participated in „Dakar” rally and also a „Tesla Roadster 360” with which Janis Horeliks took part in world famous „Pikes Peak”. Now it is time for electric go-karts and we are proud that engineers from Liepaja has chosen particularly Festival of Speed – Rally „Kurzeme 2014” to present these future technologies,” tells Uldis Hmielevskis, the director of the Festival of Speed – Rally „Kurzeme 2014”.

Since 2010, "Kurzeme" is not an ordinary rally – it is the Festival of Speed gathering the best rally drivers from Latvia and closest neighboring countries and participants from other motorsports, as well.
