Nikolay Gryazin wins Rally Liepāja for the third time, Mārtiņš Sesks fastest in ERC3 Junior class*
Today, in sunny and hot conditions, Rally Liepāja, round two of the 2021 FIA European Rally Championship, concluded with stages in the Liepāja region. In the final six special stages, taking place in Vecpils, Paplaka, Mazilmāja, and Podnieki, yesterday’s leaders Nikolay Gryazin and Konstantin Aleksandrov managed to maintain their position on top of the leaderboard.

Rally Liepāja day one complete, Nikolay Gryazin fastest on the Talsi region stages
Today, in warm and sunny conditions, the first four stages of Rally Liepāja, round two of the 2021 FIA European Rally Championship, took place in the Talsi region. Nikolay Gryazin, competing with a licence issued by the Latvian Automobile Federation, is the overall classification leader heading into the decisive stages on Saturday.

Mārtiņš Sesks: we used new approach to prepare for rally Liepāja
Junior WRC runner up Mārtiņš Sesks will compete in his hometown Liepāja in ERC3 and ERC3 Junior classes with a Ford Fiesta Rally4. Ainārs Igaveņš sets high aims for 2022
For the second year in a row, Ainārs Igaveņš will compete in the ERC2 class of Rally Liepāja. He will be competing in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X NR4, and will be co-driven by his son Ralfs Igaveņš. Ainārs is very familiar with the Talsi region stages, as he made his Rally Talsi debut all the way back in 1998.

Rally city Liepāja to host competitors’ parade
Thursday evening, starting at 21.30 citizens and guests of Liepaja are invited to attend competitors’ parade of Rally Liepāja, round 2 of the 2021 FIA European Rally Championship. Each and every person is asked to find a distanced spot along the route of parade in order to observe all the safety precautions and avoid unnecessary crowding. The 6,75km long parade will start at Liepaja Olympic Centre Manege, and its route will include Liepāja’s landmark locations – tram bridge, concert hall Great Amber, Peter’s market, Square of Jānis Čakste, further traveling through Jūrmalas Street, Dzintaru Street, and Kūrmajas Prospectus before returning to Service Park, located next to Zemnieku Street.

Mikkelsen: “It could be more difficult to win ERC compared to WRC2”
The colourful list of Round 2 of the 2021 FIA European rally championship includes Andreas Mikkelsen. Norwegian driver has already proved his talent internationally, winning 3 World rally championship events. This season he is leading WRC2 standings with “Škoda Fabia R5 Evo” car. Mikkelsen agreed to share his thoughts ahead of Rally Liepāja.
